Founder and Creative Director: Sarah Snyder, P.T., D.P.T., MS4

 

Sarah Snyder is a proud Rice Owl with her undergraduate degree from Rice University in Kinesiology and a double major in theater. In 2023 she was nominated as a White House Fellow regional candidate. She is a physical therapist who has worked for six years with Harris Health, frequently performing wound care, post-surgical and ICU mobility evaluations, and neonatal developmental evaluations. Sarah is very passionate about advocacy and education, frequently volunteering her time to provide mentorship to students. Having been born in Costa Rica, she enjoys practicing her Spanish, traveling, and learning about various cultures and languages. Her two rescue dogs are her pride and joy, often joining her on road trips to hike mountains and explore the American wilderness. She is currently an MS4 at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine and looks forward to practicing next year as an Emergency Medicine doctor. 

Treasurer and Incoming Creative Director: Cameron Cooper, MS2

Cameron Cooper is originally from Houston, Texas and attended Texas State University where he received his Bachelor's of Science degree in microbiology with a double minor in psychology and biochemistry. He is now a 2nd year medical student at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. His research interests include surgical innovations, neuromuscular disorders, autologous bone grafting and biomechanics. He is currently serving in the Army as a 2nd lieutenant and enjoys hiking, rock climbing and working out in his free time.

Health Equity Chair and Web Designer: Breanna Chachere, M.P.H., MS4

 

Originally from Alvin, Texas within the greater Houston area, Breanna Chachere is a public health professional and fourth year medical student at University of Houston’s Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. She graduated from Rice University in 2013, earning a BA in Psychology and a minor in Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities. She also attended the Boston University School of Public Health, graduating in 2018 with an MPH and certificates in Community Health, Maternal & Child Health, and Chronic & Non-Communicable Diseases.  Breanna is a nontraditional medical student with previous work experience in drop-out prevention in Houston area schools, and project management in Massachusetts, where she coordinated statewide implementation of maternal health quality improvement programs to reduce maternal deaths and make pregnancies safer. Her hobbies and medical/research interests include promoting maternal and adolescent health, advocating for health equity, championing community engagement and supporting Black and underrepresented youth access to STEM fields; all of which she creates content about on her med school blog  public health podcast. In her free time, you can find Bre spending time with her family, dogs, and friends or curled up watching thriller and adventure movies. Web Designer: Blake Archer, MS3

 

Blake Archer is current MS2 at TJFFCOM. He obtained a Master's degree at Morehouse School of Medicine and his Bachelor's degree from Howard University. He is passionate about genetic health disparities and using technology and media to enhance the impact and outreach of medicine and health equity.
